Politique de remboursement

You have 30 days from receiving your item to return it.

  • Days 1–14 — standard return window: return for any reason. No conditions on packaging or use.
  • Days 15–30 — goodwill extension: return for any reason, provided the item is unused and complete in its original packaging.

You pay the return shipping. Contact us at info@rtmannikko.fi to start a return.

Your local rights come first. Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of your country of residence. Where local law gives you more than this policy does, that law applies. Section B sets out the main regional rights.

Business purchases — orders placed by a company, with a VAT number, or otherwise for business purposes — are not covered by consumer return rights and are governed by our Terms of Sale.

Section A — Terms that apply to all orders

A1. How to start a return

Send an unequivocal statement to info@rtmannikko.fi before your return window expires. Email is recommended, as it gives you a timestamp. EU and UK customers may use the model withdrawal form at the end of this policy, but are not required to.

Please contact us before sending anything back, so we can confirm the return address and, for heavy items, the collection arrangements.

Once you have told us, send the goods back within 14 days. Dispatch within that period is sufficient.

We will confirm the return address when you contact us, and for freight items we will confirm the collection arrangements.

A2. Return costs

You are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods.

Parcel-sized items — mailboxes, drain covers, griddle plates and accessories — can be returned by post at a typical cost of €15–40 within Europe, and more from other regions.

Freight items — the outdoor fire hearth and outdoor grill, up to 120 kg — are too heavy to return by post and ship on a pallet. We deliver these only to Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. If you withdraw, you bear the return freight cost up to the maximum stated for your delivery zone:

  • Finland (mainland): €149
  • Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania: €249

These maximum amounts are shown to you before you place your order and are confirmed in your order confirmation.

Freight items must be returned palletised and secured, ready for kerbside collection. You may arrange your own suitable freight carrier, or ask us to arrange collection — in which case we deduct the actual freight cost, never more than the maximum above, from your refund.

You are responsible for packing the goods adequately for return transit and bear the risk of loss or damage until they reach us. We recommend an insured service.

A3. International returns — customs and duties

For returns from outside the EU customs territory:

  • Mark the shipment clearly as “Returned goods — no commercial value for resale” and include your order number. Incorrectly declared returns can be charged import duty on arrival.
  • You are responsible for any export charges, and for any import duties or taxes we are charged because a return was declared incorrectly. We may deduct such charges from your refund.
  • Any import duties, taxes or customs fees you paid on the original order are refundable only by your own customs authority, not by us. We can supply the documents you need to claim them.

A4. Condition of the goods

In the first 14 days you may handle and inspect the goods as you would in a shop — enough to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning. There is no requirement that the item be unused or in its original packaging.

However, you are liable for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond that, and we deduct that amount from your refund. Handling that typically reduces value includes:

  • The product has been installed, fixed, tiled in, mounted or bolted down
  • The product has been fired, burnt in, cooked on, or exposed to flame
  • Weathering, rust marks, scratches, dents or scuffs from outdoor placement or use
  • Missing parts, fixings, grates, manuals or accessories
  • Assembly carried out in a way that marks or deforms the steel

For the goodwill window (days 15–30) the item must be unused, unmarked, complete and in its original packaging, with proof of purchase.

A5. Refunds

When we pay. We may withhold your refund until we have received the goods back, or until you provide evidence that you have sent them back — whichever happens first. We then refund without undue delay, and in any event within 14 days.

Inspection and deductions. We inspect returned goods on arrival. If they have been handled beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, we deduct the resulting reduction in value and tell you the amount and the reason for it.

How we pay. We refund to the same payment method you used, unless you expressly agree otherwise. The refund itself costs you nothing. Your bank or card issuer may take a few additional days to post the funds. Refunds are made in the currency of your original payment; we are not responsible for exchange-rate movements between purchase and refund.

Delivery costs. We refund the standard delivery cost you paid. If you chose a more expensive delivery option — express, timed or premium freight — we refund only the cost of our cheapest standard delivery; the difference is not refunded.

Return freight. You bear the direct cost of returning the goods. Where you ask us to arrange collection, we deduct that cost from your refund.

A6. Faults, damage and incorrect items

If an item is faulty, not as described, or does not have the qualities you can reasonably expect, you are entitled to a remedy free of charge, and we pay the return shipping. We will either arrange collection or reimburse your reasonable return costs.

Remedies are, in order: repair or replacement; and where that is impossible, disproportionate, or not carried out within a reasonable time, a price reduction or a refund. Your local law may give you a direct right to a refund in some cases — see Section B.

Transit damage or wrong item. Please inspect your order on arrival and contact us at info@rtmannikko.fi as soon as possible — ideally within 7 days — with photographs of the item and its packaging. Reporting later does not remove your statutory rights, but prompt notice helps us pursue the carrier.

For heavy items, we may offer a replacement part or an agreed price reduction instead of returning the whole product, where that resolves the fault and you agree.

A7. Exceptions — non-returnable items

The return rights in this policy do not apply to:

  • Goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised — items cut, sized, drilled, engraved or fabricated to your drawing or measurements, such as custom grate sizes, made-to-measure covers and bespoke steel work
  • Goods that, after delivery, are by their nature inseparably mixed with other items
  • Gift cards

We state clearly at the point of order when an item is made to order and therefore non-returnable, and you confirm this before payment.

Sale items are returnable on the same terms as any other item.

Not covered by faults or returns:

  • Damage caused by misuse, neglect, accident, unsuitable installation, or alteration
  • Normal wear, patina and surface weathering. Corten and untreated steel are designed to develop a rust patina outdoors; this is the intended behaviour of the material, not a defect
  • Damage from frost, from fire beyond intended use, or from exposure outside the product’s stated purpose

A8. Exchanges

We do not process direct exchanges. The fastest way to get the item you want is to return the original and place a new order.

Section B — Your rights where you live

These summaries do not replace your local law. Where your local law gives you more than Section A, your local law applies.

B1. European Union / EEA

You have a statutory right to withdraw within 14 days of receiving the goods, for any reason and without justification. The item does not need to be unused or in its original packaging; we may only deduct for diminished value (A4). You bear the direct cost of return (A2).

We are liable for defects existing at delivery for at least two years. Under Finnish law there is no fixed cut-off: our liability follows the reasonably expected lifespan of the product, which for our steel products may be considerably longer. For the first year, a defect that appears is presumed to have existed at delivery unless we show otherwise.

B2. United Kingdom

You have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of receiving the goods, and a further 14 days to return them.

In addition, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you have a short-term right to reject faulty goods within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. After that, you are entitled to repair or replacement, and to a refund or price reduction if that fails. You may bring a claim for up to 6 years (5 years in Scotland).

B3. Norway

You have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Norwegian Right of Cancellation Act.

For goods intended to last significantly longer than two years — which includes our steel products — the complaint period is 5 years.

B4. Switzerland

Swiss law does not provide a general statutory cooling-off right for online purchases. Our 30-day return offer in Section A applies to you in full. Statutory warranty for defects is two years from delivery.

B5. United States

There is no federal right to return online purchases in the United States. The terms in Section A are your return rights, and we honour them in full.

Some states give you additional rights, and manufacturer or seller warranties are governed by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Nothing here limits rights your state gives you.

B6. Canada

Consumer protection is provincial and varies. The terms in Section A apply to you, in addition to any rights your province gives you, which we do not limit.

B7. Australia and New Zealand

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law and, in New Zealand, the Consumer Guarantees Act.

For a major failure, you are entitled to choose a refund or a replacement, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss. For a failure that is not major, you are entitled to have the problem fixed within a reasonable time; if that is not done, you may cancel and obtain a refund.

B8. Rest of the world

The terms in Section A apply to you in full, together with any mandatory consumer rights under the law of your country of residence, which we do not limit.

Section C — Complaints, disputes and governing law

Please contact us first at info@rtmannikko.fi. We aim to reply within 5 business days.

If we cannot reach agreement, EU/EEA customers may refer the matter to:

  • Kuluttajaneuvonta, the Finnish Consumer Advisory Service — kuluttajaneuvonta.fi
  • Kuluttajariitalautakunta, the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board — kuluttajariita.fi

Customers elsewhere may use any consumer dispute body available in their own country.

This policy is governed by Finnish law. This does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-law provisions of your country of residence.

Model withdrawal form (EU/EEA and UK)

Complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract.
